Some of the People, All of the Time (Dec 16 2003 02:54 GMT) - From The Australian : US troops killed two Iraqis after Saddam Hussein loyalists sacked regional government offices and insurgents attacked police stations yesterday in a show of force after the capture of the former dictator. The pair of Iraqis were shot dead in the Sunni rebel stronghold of Fallujah 60km west of Baghdad, police and journalists at the scene said. The pair were shot inside a car, Iraqi police Lieutenant Hamid Ali Bardi said. A US military spokeswoman in Baghdad said she was checking on the report but had no confirmation. |

Typos (Dec 16 2003 02:53 GMT) - I hate typos. I mean, I don't like them in other people's writing, but I can tolerate them. But I absolutely, positively hate typos in my own writing. Unfortunately, I've been noticing what appears to be an increasing number of them (for example, I just re-read my last post on the Da Vinci Effect and found several). It might be because I'm rushed, or because I don't proofread my posts as carefully as I should, or because I type quite quickly (approximately 90 words a minute on a good day) but what I offer in speed I lack in accuracy. |

BitTorrent and RSS Create Disruptive Revolution. (Dec 16 2003 02:51 GMT) - Steve Gillmor: BitTorrent and RSS Create Disruptive Revolution. BitTorrent as it is today is not suitable for distributing RSS feeds, because the centralized tracker uses just as much bandwidth as a modern Web server. P2P news delivery is a great concept, but to make BitTorrent suitable for RSS you'd have to make enough changes that you might as well start from scratch. |
