The LP's Battle of the Boortz (Dec 18 2003 21:58 GMT) - Should the Libertarian Party have invited pro-war radio talk show host Neal Boortz to speak at their 2004 presidential nominating convention? This site gives a resounding "no!" in answer to that not-very-musical question, calling to "Boot Boortz." The LP--of course, of course, yadda yadda--should be free to pick whoever it wants to speak at its most prominent public display of what it stands for. (This event is frequently picked up by C-SPAN, giving the LP the largest national TV audience it ever gets for its message. |

The smog Strangler (Dec 18 2003 21:57 GMT) - AKA The Boy from Gentle Ben whose not looking quite so cute now. In a lot of Ron Howard films (obvoiusly feels some affinity with once cute now rotten looking actors) Jerry and George are going to find Kramer who has been accused of being the Smog Strangler, and are driving in the back of a police car when the police pull over some guy trying to steal a car, they then get called to a possible sighting of the Smog Strangler and they leave Jerry, George and S.S alone in the car. Jerry opens the window and open the back door from the outside leaving the Real Smog Strangler to escape.... |

Blogger News Item (Dec 18 2003 21:56 GMT) - Parents of Stratfod High School students and civil rights leaders including Jesse Jackson met in South Carolina today to protest the potentially deadly situation created in November when local police swarmed into the school with guns drawn in a search for drugs. However, spokesmen for the police sought once again to alleviate parents' fears by assuring them that all officers involved in the raid were safe and unharmed. Acting swiftly on third-person heresay evidence that a small amount of marijuana might be present in the school, heavily armed officers of the local police force were deployed in a tactical sweep to enforce the schools "zero tolerence" drug policy. Officers involved in the heroic raid were baffled by the level of fear demonsrated by the local community. "It was no big deal really," says Officer Charles Halstead, "I mean, they're just a bunch of school kids and we're big cops with body armor and assault weapons. |

Blogger News Item (Dec 18 2003 21:56 GMT) - In this weeks presidential address, he took a moment to speak to future generations of soldiers and taxpayers to give them a better understanding of how the promises of today will impact "the futures of your tomorrows." While not all kids can understand the wisdom behind his genius, parents and pundits alike agree that if you can't say anything nice, you're probably talking about Bush. [More] |

"Saddam Hussein's capture was the one remaining piece of news that we really needed to have people on the ground to cover," said Fox News spokesperson Jeanette Franklin. "With this last loose end tied up, we are confident that we no longer need the expense or potential embarrassment of trained journalists conducting independent research." [More] |

Blogger News Item (Dec 18 2003 21:56 GMT) - After reporting last year that Santa Claus was less jolly than he used to be, it is with glee that we now report good news from the North Pole. Santa's North Pole, that is. Santa's lack of jolliness was apparently due to an unhealthy sex drive, according to a year old study. Mr. Claus suffered from a chemical imbalance causing him to come only once a year. |
