Mutilated1: What kind of pickups should I get when.... (The Woodshed) (Dec 19 2003 21:59 GMT)

- If its an authentic Gibson Flying V, it'd be foolish to replace them. If its just an Epiphone, just about anything will sound better. EMGs would be a good choice, but keep in mind its not a simple drop in replacement with the active pickups since they need a battery compartment, and the pots currently in your guitar won't work best with them.

2003: On the record; off the mark (Dec 19 2003 21:58 GMT)

- Though the IT industry seemed unable to deliver the next killer app in 2003, its executive management produced more than its usual share of comments whose hyperbole, wrongness or general disconnection with reality make them worth repeating. The industry giants that dominated the headlines -- Microsoft, Oracle, and of course would-be giant-slayer, The SCO Group -- also made an impressive showing in this year's list of comments that weren't quite on the mark.

DEAN LOOKING EVIL (Dec 19 2003 21:55 GMT)

- Remember the "Angry Demorats Ads" that Chris pointed out? Here's a video of the entire Dean speech from which those clips of the furious Dean were taken, and here is a a transcript. He is most furious at the end, but the content of his comments aren't as bad as you'd think. There was a reason that the Bush team only took clips of Dean saying things about fundamentalist Preachers and "thank you very much" -- the other comments during his climax weren't that crazy:I want my country back!
