A Visit to Santa (Dec 20 2003 23:59 GMT) - There was much Christmas themed activity today. We started with a brunch and a visit with Santa at the club to which Grammy and Boppy belong. That was immediately followed by a Christmas ballet recital. A brief rest was followed by dinner - a nice little ginger lentil soup and some potato croquettes. |

The Future Of Web Conferencing: Good Interviews Heike Philp (Dec 20 2003 23:56 GMT) - (SOURCE: The Future Of Web Conferencing: Good Interviews Heike Philp )- Excellent! I'd love to take German classes with my German teacher Gabi Futerer-Gil in Friedrichshafen over the web again. QUOTE Heike seems to have been quite successful at this, as she does run a full-time online international language school, that fully leverages the power of live collaboration tools while providing enormous flexibility and comfort to both her trainers and her school students. |

prevalence of HTML mail (Dec 20 2003 23:50 GMT) - Is HTML mail finally sufficiently ubiquitous that one can simply assume that anyone you send it to will have the ability to read it? I'm looking for statistics on popularity of mail readers, and having a hard time finding any. Do any of you know of any? My random wild-assed guess would be something like: 40% Outlook 30% AOL 25% Yahoo/Hotmail/etc 4% Eudora/Netscape 1% everything else ... |

Translation of KDE article in Trouw (Dec 20 2003 23:49 GMT) - As announced, the translation (by Fabrice with some help of Alexander Kellett and yours truly) of the KDE article (Dutch, requires membership) in last Friday's Trouw: The enormous dependence on the computer program from the American Microsoft isn't a healthy situation. The Linux community therefore provides free software to use on PCs and is already gaining quite some terrain. But on the desktop PC Microsoft is still the dominant factor. Not for long though, as a small competitor to Microsoft, Lindows works to combine the power of Linux with the ease of use of Windows. |

Freedom Tower III (Dec 20 2003 23:48 GMT) - My desire to see the towers rebuilt is not based in nostalgia. It's based in a desire to see the terrorists defeated in every conceivable way. After Freedom Tower is built, terrorists can still point to it and say "There used to be two big old monsters there, but we took them down. Now they don't build as high as they used to." |

The success of Bush's foreign policy (Dec 20 2003 23:47 GMT) - President Bush: Our understanding with Libya came about through quiet diplomacy.
