Humane Humiliation (Dec 20 2003 01:58 GMT) - What I do find humiliating is that someone described by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld during a Dec. 16 press conference as, "one of the most brutal dictators in the adult lifetime of anyone in this room, who tortured people, who killed people, ... and intimidated the entire nation and the neighbors ..." is given a clean shave, a bath, and the full capacity of the US Army's medical arm when one in nine Americans hasn't the luxury. |

Helpline Comment (24793) (Dec 20 2003 01:57 GMT) - SCSI = System Can't See It! As for Lego, yes I remember the computer add on to Lego, it was called Lego Logo. They had one set up at my middle school on an old Apple IIe, I played around with it, rather cool. Yes they did have one for the PC also, I don't have one but my dad and I investigated it, and were planning on using an old IBM AT, it fell through because of the expense. So I ended up learning how to strip down and re-assemble computers with that old machine instead. |

Olde English Ghosts? (Dec 20 2003 01:57 GMT) - I don't believe in ghosts but even I have to confess that this qualifies as spooky: Closed-circuit security cameras at Hampton Court Palace, the huge Tudor castle outside London, seem to have snagged an ethereal visitor. Could it be a ghost? "We're baffled too — it's not a joke, we haven't manufactured it," said Vikki Wood, a Hampton Court spokeswoman, when asked if the photo the palace released was a Christmas hoax. "We genuinely don't... |

You're racist.I was listening to Alan Colmes' radio show the other night because it's the only thing on between Phil Hendrie and Tom Leykis. Colmes was out for the evening, so a guest host was conducting an interview with the lawyer filing a class action law suit against WalMart--the world's largest retailer--alleging that WalMart cheated thousands of immigrant janitors out of wages. The host argued that the janitors didn't deserve to get paid the same wage as Americans because they were illegal immigrants and shouldn't have been in America in the first place. |

(Dec 20 2003 01:51 GMT) - Fri Dec 19, 8:11 AM ET RIGA, Latvia (Reuters) - Latvian police said a drunk picked up with around twice the blood-alcohol level considered deadly had probably set a world record but would wake with a hangover to match.
