IROBOT (Dec 22 2003 02:59 GMT) - a very, very, bad-ass site. Looks like marketing for the movie "I, Robot"...based on the book, "I, Robot" by Asimov...the original story showcasing Asimov's famous three "laws" of robotics. from reviewindex. |

Getting in Touch with the Passengers (Dec 22 2003 02:53 GMT) - Half-naked, tattooed and moderately toasted, a man had his train ride ended in midstream. High on the second level of the third carriage of a train bound for an endless loop of the network, the passengers were treated to a full forced diatribe. Running the gamut of emotions it remains unclear how mu |

2005: A Look Back (Dec 22 2003 02:52 GMT) - As usual, many of the PDA sites are starting to do their "year in review" and "what's coming up" articles. I've done similar article since 1994 when I first started up PDAntic.com, and frankly I think they're a bit of a waste of time. After all, we all know what exactly has come out on the market during the last 12 months, and it's anyone's guess as to what will happen in the upcoming year. So I thought I would take a leap forward to the end of 2005 and make some predictions as to what will happen... |

Luther Elliss - defensive lineman, father of eight. (Dec 22 2003 02:52 GMT) - The Ellisses are devout Christians, frequently invoking the Bible or their faith as the driving force behind their advocacy of adoption. But having two 4-year-olds, two toddlers and two babies, plus two elementary schoolers, seems like a daunting task even to those with great faith. |

For the deaf, new options on the phone (Dec 22 2003 02:50 GMT) - This is an amazing development which should serve as quite the equalizer... The Sorenson videophone is a breakthrough, said Genie Gertz, an assistant professor of deaf studies at California State University at Northridge, because it enables the deaf to use what many consider to be their native language - American Sign Language - with unprecedented simplicity and clarity. "This is a gigantic step for the deaf community," Gertz, who is deaf, said through an interpreter. The Sorenson VP-100 is a stand-alone videophone that works with a television and broadband Internet connection. It has a remote control and a flashing light that can be used instead of a ringer to signal incoming calls. |

Can't See The Pictures for ... (Dec 22 2003 02:50 GMT) - Can't See The Pictures for the Pixels. In this week's Sunday Morning Photographer column Mike Johnston tells us all to ignore the pixel count and noise levels and concentrate on the image: "Agreement seems universal that the D2H is a masterpiece of ergonomics, proportion, and responsiveness. Where the cavils creep in is in the discussions of image quality. Too much noise at high ISOs? |

China is practicing state terrorism (Dec 22 2003 02:49 GMT) - From GUNED.COM-- Israeli President Moshe Katsav has said that the capture of Saddam is not only a warning to those who support terrorism, but that it also proves that the international community will not tolerate a dictatorship that supports international terrorism. Although the Chinese media initially publicized the news of Saddam's capture, Chinese officialdom has kept a low profile on the matter. The government in Beijing has, in fact, never supported US military action in Iraq. On account of the Chinese media's distortion of facts, the Chinese public feels that the US has been acting too much like a hegemon in its deployment of troops in Iraq. |
