Thank you (Dec 23 2003 23:05 GMT) - This is the best time of the year. In my life, at Christmas everything seems to halt. I don't have busy days as many other people. Things are really getting quiet and I have time to think about many important things. Those that you can only really appreciate if... |

DJ Tiesto at Holy Grail Civic this evening (Dec 23 2003 23:05 GMT) - The world's number one DJ for the past two years (according to DJ Magazine), Tiesto, will be playing at Holy Grail civic this evening. This is a big coup for Canberra to have one of the worlds best DJ's play here. If your'e looking for something a bit different to do tonight, I suggest you go along and listen to the techno and progressive trance that Tiesto has to offer. Tiesto's lastest CD, Nyana, would also make a great last minute stocking filler. Details are on City Search here. |

And So This Is Christmas? (Dec 23 2003 23:05 GMT) - Well the television is completely saturated with crap, baby photo's and stories about "picking up a bargain". Fake plastic pine trees abound, otherwise sensible people are wearing silly hats and the office party season has come to an end. Am I just getting older and more twisted or has this Christmas set new records for grasping vacuity? I've been poking around but there don't seem to be any service times available online for the churches of Canberra. I do know St John's in Reid has a service at 8am and probably a few more at 90 minute intervals, May Santa be kind to you, and may the turkey be moist. |

Novell's Letters - Why They Contest SCO's Copyright (Dec 23 2003 23:04 GMT) - Groklaw has put up a story containing the text of letters exchanged this year between Novell and SCO which explain Novell's position on ownership of Unix copyrights. Of course, that also explains why they filed for ownership of those copyrights not long after SCO did the same. After reading the letters and the original agreement and the revised agreement, it looks to me as if Novell makes a very strong case that SCO has never owned the copyrights, as they were specifically excluded from the sale unless and only if SCO needed them to exercise the rights they did get ownership of. Check it out. It's kind of a sleeper story. |

digitize (Dec 23 2003 23:03 GMT) - UPDATE: Chief was on and it was awesome! slogging (Dec 23 2003 23:03 GMT) - The real value of a judicial proceeding against Saddam is to render a fair, accurate, public accounting of the terror of his regime. SSH for Series 60! (Dec 23 2003 23:01 GMT) - WOOhooo!!! Making the Nokia 3650/6600 phones now a kick-ass tool to have in emergencies for web admins, SSH has been ported to the Series 60 platform. Combine this with Yellow FTP and you have yourself a damn-fine way of remotely maintaining a server. Start/stop processes, edit files, etc. It works like a charm. |
