Spectacular Christmas presents! (Dec 26 2003 19:58 GMT) - At the beginning of this week, the Monday Mission asked, "Just for fun, what is the one present you'd like for Christmas, but you know there is no way you will?" My answer was "That's an easy one: A digital camera!"So imagine my shock when Meredith insisted I open her gift first, and I pulled the wrapping off to find an HP PhotoSmart 435 digital camera! I still need to learn how to use its features, but I took some pictures with it on Christmas eve, Christmas day, and today -- we haven't had time yet to install the software on the computer to see how they look, though. |

New effeciency milestone in electric vehicles! (Dec 26 2003 19:57 GMT) - "A new Dutch invention can make cars, busses and other vehicles no less than 50 percent more efficient and thus more environmentally friendly. Better still, the technology is already available; it all comes down to a smart combination of existing systems... All this is made possible by an ‘in-wheel' electric engine, in fact nothing more than a normal electric engine turned inside out... Since the wheel is in fact the engine, no axles or any other friction-producing and therefore energy-wasting mechanical parts are needed. |

Parents Campaign for Cleaner School Buses (Dec 26 2003 19:56 GMT) - In the last few years, researchers have discovered links between the exhaust fumes from diesel buses and rising asthma rates in children.
