Happy Holidays (Dec 29 2003 03:59 GMT) - The holiday season is nearly half over, I can hardly believe it. Christmas was good and its been nice to have a break from work and things. Although by Christmas day I was starting to get a little bored. I finally decided to upgrade the server to Redhat 9.0 since its end of life cycle is good until the end of April. |

House under contract (Dec 29 2003 03:57 GMT) - We signed our contract today on the new home. We have a cul-de-sac lot with one of the "proposed" nature trails running behind the house. I hope they build the trails where they proposed to build them. |

Scentsational (Dec 29 2003 03:54 GMT) - Saturday I spent in South Deerfield, MA with my mother and sister, aunt and cousin. We went to the "big" Yankee candle sale after xmas. Typically the sale lasts one week and has mega reduced bargains, but this year it was for 3 days and the sale was not so intense. I've been looking forward to this trip for several weeks now because if anyone knows me, they know that I am my mom's daughter and could put a church to shame with all the candley goodness in the apartment. When we arrived, at 10 in the morning, my mom said, "we made great time" - her typical excited statement when she has the itinerary planned down to the minute. |

Babelfish Sandwich (Dec 29 2003 03:53 GMT) - I'd probably have an easier time of navigating sites like these if I could read Japanese, but at least I can still enjoy the pretty pictures. |

Burning Bright (Dec 29 2003 03:51 GMT) - Got home a bit ago after driving 16 hours from San Antonio. Trip was relatively uneventful and the weather was fairly decent after some early rain in Texas, late rain in Missouri. Clear enough to know when I was at my closest to the Western White House, and performed a little symbolic gesture signifying the level of my respect when I passed. Trip was educational and enlightening, but will be the last solo cross-country trip I do. Without sharing the driving responsibilities with another, after... |
