I don't want to give the USDA responsibility: they have it, by their actions. Classifying meat gives them that responsibility, not their funding. I don't want them to have it either, but the argument to remove their funding is much stronger when you acknowledge they have responsibility they shouldn't have, as opposed to ignoring their responsibility. |
