Re: My Pictures not streaming (Dec 31 2003 00:51 GMT) - Yes, I did copy the picture to the watched folder; and when I went back it was gone, so I'm assuming it has "upstreamed" OK. I think the problem is that I am using a computer at work and for some reason access to the Program Files is denied. I may have to load the program onto a different computer and then set the path as Rhye and Julie recommended. Another thing I did which might explain what Lisa was talking about: |

OSU's Brutus wins 2003 Mascot Bowl (Dec 31 2003 00:50 GMT) - Ohio State's Brutus Buckeye was the winner of the CapitalOne 2003 Mascot Bowl. Brutus finished with 34% of the vote, followed by Aubie from Auburn University with 23.8%, and Cocky from South Carolina with 18.1%. While Ohio State has zero shot at repeating as National Champions this year, at least Buckeye fans can dip their Tostitos with pride knowing that Brutus is #1! |

Taro reading (Dec 31 2003 00:50 GMT) - Out of curiousity (mostly), the other day I bought a taro root in the produce section of the Asian grocery. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with it.Can anybody share some good recipes or cooking tips? I'm game for either savories or sweets, but I really need some help figuring out exactly what I can do with it before it potentially goes bad. If you think you can get better answers by reposting this request to other food-based communities or discussion groups, you have my permission -- just let me know where you're asking so I can see the responses for myself. |

If you have to blame it on something at least be honest (Dec 31 2003 00:48 GMT) - The War on ReligionAs we celebrate another Yuletide season, it’s hard not to notice that Christmas in America simply doesn’t feel the same anymore. Although an overwhelming majority of Americans celebrate Christmas, and those who don’t celebrate it overwhelmingly accept and respect our nation’s Christmas traditions, a certain shared public sentiment slowly has disappeared. The Christmas spirit, marked by a wonderful feeling of goodwill among men, is in danger of being lost in the ongoing... |

Could it be? (Dec 31 2003 00:48 GMT) - That the current U.S. administration is getting the message that it has to change it's ways or face further credibility loss with the international community - not to mention the people it supposedly represents? According to a... |

Drop that almanac or we'll shoot !! (Dec 31 2003 00:48 GMT) - I rarely get to use this category, as a matter of fact this is the very first time, but where else could this possibly fit? Flying Fish (Dec 31 2003 00:48 GMT) - Batty recounts the horrors of trying to get a fish on a plane. One could chalk it up to the new ridiculous regulations, but sadly, I have a similar story that dates back to 1990. The story of Herman the Goldfish, rest his soul. Herman was my friend and companion for several months during my long year as a sophomore at college. He was a sweet little goldfish, nothing fancy, just your regular little guy. |

The warning was sent to 18,000 officers before Christmas. Almanacs, warns the FBI, may be used "to assist with target selection and pre-operational planning." All the Meiwes That's Fit ... (Dec 31 2003 00:48 GMT) - All the Meiwes That's Fit to PrintOur first break in restricted coverage comes from the Australian press, which by and large carries more cannibal new that any other island continent I can think of. Australia is an interesting land, what with all their marsupials and their delicious Outback restaurants, and they do think a lot about cannibals. Back when they were the model for 'Escape from New York', they had a lot of cannibal trauma. Probably the guards telling the prisoners that the Aborigines were man-eaters, a fake fact that seems embedded in the national psyche. Well Christmas got in the way. |
