- Look, it's easy to use a V if you're working with such puny mortals as leaves a spot right next to a triple word score open that can be used with an 'S'. If you're working with my hyper competitive family (or Lucas, who's just as bad, or good, depending on how you're looking at it), you don't even make something that comes near a triple word score (near is defined as within five squares in any direction, or within one square of the edge of the board). This is why playing with kids is so disastrous--not only do they muck up the board making "cat", but the person who goes after them always gets the triple word score that they so blithely revealed. Other Scrabble rules: Never let two vowels sit 90 degrees from each other on a triple letter score, or you're asking for someone to ax/ox your ass and get 48 points for a single letter. |
