Christmas story (Dec 31 2003 13:40 GMT) - An amusing story from my Christmas. Waking up early in the morning to get a start on baking breads, gathering the ingredients for string bean casserole I wandered off into the kitchen. I brought out all the stuff I needed for cranberry and lemon poppy seed bread and during the gathering of the casserole I realized that I was missing one. I had gone shopping earlier in the week and was adamant about purchasing cream of mushroom soup and remember putting a can into my basket. I searched all the cabinets in the kitchen three times in total disbelief of my stupidity and the only thing that could have occured was that I purchased cream of chicken soup instead of CoM soup. |

Is other peoples second hand smoke on the menu? [Lee Englestone] (Dec 31 2003 13:40 GMT) - Needless to say another rather unpleasant dining experience prompted this blog. Can i please persuade anyone who runs any sort of business that involves the consumption of food to please, please designate non-smoking areas in your establishments. Better yet make it all non smoking. I find one of the most stomach turning nauseating aspects of daily life is the smell of tobacco (especially when eating!) You can imagine my joy then, when the people surrounding me did not hesitate to light up whilst i was eating. |

What are schools doing to tame this behavior? "For one middle-school girl it was a rumor, circulated via text messaging, that she had contracted SARS while on a trip to Toronto. She returned to school and found nobody would come near her. |

No offense to any of the gay folk, but sometimes, when you do anything for attention [sic], it's time for you to become uncool even faster. And, there's nothing wrong with being gay, there's just something wrong with making your sexual orientation "cool" to be. You should just be able to "be" you and not have to sweat it. |
