Comment about the IBM Personal Typing System (1933) (Dec 31 2003 19:59 GMT) - We are trying to move files from the old Personal Typing System to a brand new IBM PC... We have the conversion software and that is working very well, thank you www.acii.com, but what I would like to know, is if there is a better way to move (transfer) files from one machine to another. I would appreciate any help I could get, this is taking forever! |

The Stepford Wives' Faith Hill (Dec 31 2003 19:58 GMT) - Why am I not surprised that country singer Faith Hill has a featured role in the coming comedy remake of The Stepford Wives (teaser trailer, which is a faux ad much like the one for I, Robot)? She is probably a nice enough person, certainly I've never met her and cannot comment on that, but between her perfect marriage to fellow singing star Tim McGraw and perfect children and her so good she looks manufactured appearance, it's almost satirical that she's been cast as the perfect robotic wife in this film. |

Now I've Heard Everything (Dec 31 2003 19:57 GMT) - When I tell people I'm a librarian, I'm often met with surprise. That's because people don't really know much about the 21st century librarian. A good amount of my work is now computer-oriented, using databases, the web, chat, and other technostuff to answer questions, and better still, to teach other folks how to search for answers themselves. But I still use books. Often. |

How do you pay for it? (Dec 31 2003 19:57 GMT) - With the increasing popularity of blogs many of the more popular sites are beginning to draw such huge bandwidth that they are becoming financial draws on their owners. Andrew Sullivan, among others, recently ran a fund raising drive. Advertisements are becoming more and more ubiquitious across the blogosphere. Its darn near impossible these days to find a highly trafficked site which doesn't have some obvious revenue stream in place to pay the bills. ... |

Hmmm (Dec 31 2003 19:52 GMT) - You ever have on of those days that makes you wonder why you ever thought working with technology was a good idea? Anyone have any jobs that I could do that don't involved dealing with users, vendors, or hosting companies? That would be sweet..By the way, this is the first time I've actually been able to reach blogger's servers to post all day. The other site is back, sort of. |

Brandenburgin portti veti juhlijoita Berliinissä (Dec 31 2003 19:52 GMT) - Kymmenettuhannet saksalaiset kokoontuivat uudenvuodenaattona Berliinin keskustassa Brandenburgin portille ottaakseen vastaan vuoden 2004. Viranomaiset arvioivat jopa 800 000 juhlijan saapuvan puoleenyöhön mennessä paikalle ihailemaan ilotulitusta ja tanssimaan kahden kilometrin pituisella juhla-alueella. |
