Chewy Trot (Jan 06 2004 17:59 GMT) - This is an image of my friends black labrador as he frolicked thru' the White Sands. It is difficult to shoot such an active animal but I just kept shooting away, hoping some good shots would come of it. Images like this print exceedingly well with "black only"(BO) on my 1280 inkjet printer. |

Funny, I don't feel a day over 36 and a half (Jan 06 2004 17:58 GMT) - It's my birthday, #37. I think that I'm now officially middle-aged. "I will not accept that nomination," Clark said. (Jan 06 2004 17:56 GMT) - I am not the blogger covering General Wesley Clark's campaign in our continuing Left Coaster series on the Democratic Presidential candidates, but I have something to say about this: Clark says he won't be vice presidential nominee "I'm running to... |

Macworld Expo (Jan 06 2004 17:56 GMT) - MacCentral is running live coverage of the Macworld Expo keynote speech by Steve Jobs this morning. There are rumors of a $100 iPod among other things. I'm interested in a $100 iPod so I'm hoping the rumors are true. Also rumored is FileMaker announcing a huge upgrade for their vulnerable desktop database software. The changes I've read about many months ago made it sound like FileMaker had ripped the current db engine out and replaced it with something much more powerful. |

La marche en avant (Jan 06 2004 17:55 GMT) - Fascinating article on kitchen layouts in French restaurants which have influenced restaurants worldwide including Vancouver. From la marche en avant:QUOTEIn France, there’s a big wall in most restaurants between the dining room and the kitchen. Sometimes this wall is more figurative than literal, but in reality, the kitchen is an entirely different world than the area where the guests enjoy its output. |

Here's what their web site says:"The main goal of the 6Power project is to contribute to ensuring affordable broadband access and the deployment of IPv6 in Europe, as stated in the conclusion of the Presidency from the Barcelona European Summit ... In order to achieve this goal, the project will research the native support and deployment of IPv6, QoS and other advanced services over Power Line Communication networks, following a specific work plan."6Power is partially funded by the European Community and is partnered with various organizations in Europe. |
