They should have just come out and said it (Jan 08 2004 23:19 GMT) - Nice and plain, like this: Bush and his administration liedBush administration officials "systematically misrepresented" the threat from Iraq's weapons of mass destruction in the run-up to war, according to a new report to be published on Thursday by a respected Washington think-tank. These distortions, combined with intelligence failures, exaggerated the risks posed by a country that presented no immediate threat to the US, Middle East or global security, the report... |

Wait for it..... (Jan 08 2004 23:19 GMT) - ... the spin will come. Iraq's Arsenal Was Only on Paper No where near as fancy as Powell's "concept" sketches of the [yet to be found] mobile biochemical labs but I'm sure that someone is going to bring up the idea that MacIntosh computers started on a napkin - and look where that went. |

why i do what i do (Jan 08 2004 23:18 GMT) - It’s cold outside today. Again. Which makes getting up and driving (and walking) through blowing and drifting snow for an 8am web design class not much fun—even for the teacher. |

The Storm Warning That Wasn't (Jan 08 2004 23:16 GMT) - The folks over at the National Weather Service were a bit surprised yesterday when they saw that they had put out an "impending blizzard warning" when they were all sitting around marveling out how nice the weather actually was. Turns out that someone in another office had sent out a test message that accidentally went live. Then, thanks to our automated world, the winter storm warning started appearing all over the internet on weather pages that simply take information from the National Weather Service and repost it. The only thing I can think of is that this is the first time I've actually seen the weather people admit that they were wrong. |

Helpline Comment (25038) (Jan 08 2004 23:15 GMT) - I'm cleaning out my computer collection, so I've got quite a few computers(286-486) even some PS/2's(30-286, 55, 56sx, 57, 70) keyboards(just AT) harddrives(40M to ~1G, IDE and a couple SCSI) external CD Caddy drive...maybe some more stuff, I'm just slowly going though it all. Most everything I'd give for just shipping. If anyone is interested, just E-Mail me and we can work something out. By the end of next week, I should have everything set up where I can use either ebay or paypal if people would feel safer using those. |
