It's a log10-scaled view of the increase in computing power (measured in TFlOpS, which are Trillions of Floating-point Operations per Second) as represented by the slowest and fastest of the world's fastest 500 super-computers, as well as the sum of all 500. Obviously, the fastest is going to be a step function, as a new big bertha comes on line every few years, jumping ahead and then retaining its top spot maybe for a year or two. |
