Restaurant club - Namaste (Jan 10 2004 23:03 GMT) - This evening I got invited along to an Edinburgh restaurant club. The idea is that the members of the club meet once a month, and try a different restaurant each time; having a very good night out in the process. The club has been going for just over a year now, and its membership seems to grow organically by introducing friends of friends. Myself, I was invited along by a guy from work, and ended up having a wonderful time. |

Why Do They Hate Us? (Jan 10 2004 23:02 GMT) - In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, many Democrats said America should stop and ask itself this question. It's early 2004, now. The Democrats have taken a pasting in practically every election since the 9/11 attacks. Even in the 2000 congressional "mid-term" election, Republicans gained seats in both houses of congress, something that hasn't happened to the party in the White House since FDR's presidency. The Democratic governor of California was recalled and replaced by a Republican actor with no experience holding political office. |
