A Bad Flight (Jan 12 2004 00:08 GMT) - It seems that a flight form LaGuardia to DC's Reagan National Airport turned a little scary for 24 passengers and crew members: One passenger gave a note to the flight attendant. The note stated he had a bomb on the plane and wanted to be taken to Australia. Of course, the plane made an emergency landing at Dulles Airport, where the plane was searched, everyone was questioned by the FBI, and the man was taken away. The Daily News has the FBI's statement: |

Blogger News Item (Jan 12 2004 00:06 GMT) - I posted the final list of Survivor All Stars two posts below, but didn't have time to post any of the analysis. Some cheesy writing, but some useful info in these excerpts from a RealityNewsOnline story about the TV Guide story: As you can see, we have an interesting mix. Chapera has no winners among its members, while Saboga and Mogo Mogo have two. However, the battle of the Robs that is certain to ensue in Chapera may more than make up for it as brilliant plotter Rob Cesternino goes up against the blunt force of the Robfather. |

TECH TALK: Good Books: Problem Solving (Jan 12 2004 00:06 GMT) - I recently attended a marriage. I dread attending wedding receptions because I invariably end up meeting people and having conversations with them without figuring out who they are. So, much of the conversation ends up trying to decipher clues as to their identify. The problem is compounded when they ask “Remember me” and you reply “Oh Yes, Of course I do” and they go on to ask “So, who am I?” I went through a similar experience in a reception I attended recently. |

And I shall name him Mini-Me (Jan 12 2004 00:05 GMT) - IKEA was out of the bookcases we wanted, so we left and ended up at the SPCA. You have no idea how close Sassy came to having a younger sister -- a four week old grey striped little girl. She was so freakin' cute. Only by the coincidence that neither Mr. Fish nor I have changed our driver's licenses to reflect our new residence and had no paperwork to prove where we live did we not come home with that kitten. |

Not Today but we'll build a wearable computer (Jan 12 2004 00:05 GMT) - I've been hearing and reading about wearable computer from local geeks ang geekette, but it hasn't appealed to me until I read Steve Mann's page. It changed the way I feel about wearable computing especially the exciting and somewhat scary(Spiritual Machines?) promise it holds in the future. Reading further, I realized it's simple to build one. Using Xwindows and RWM(Reality Window Manager) a Mediated Reality for anything that will show something to the user. |
