Global warming conference postponed due ... (Jan 12 2004 02:51 GMT) - Global warming conference postponed due to ice, snow, freezing rain, frigid temperatures at conference site. No comment :-) I did find amusing this story about a rare thunderstorm (but hardly the first) in Barrow, AK that was transformed into the "first ever thunderstorm in Barrow, AK" in media reports, and eventually in Congressional comments. Only problem - it was not the first. See the National Climate Data Center report (page down) for further info confirming it was not the first. |

CAD Engineer (Kansas City, KS) (Jan 12 2004 02:50 GMT) - Minimum requirement is to have or be able to obtain or reactivate a 'Secret Clearance', which is a lower level clearance. This would probably take several weeks, after which you could begin work. If you have a higher level clearance such as Top Secret that would be great. Client will train on all the job tasks. The top candidates would possess a degree or have experience in Geography/Cartography and some exposure to computerized mapping systems. |
