- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead EMC support for a SAN environment that includes both EMC and STK storage. - Lead installation of new storage, allocate storage consistent with PEDCS storage service process, monitor and manage performance of storage resources. - Provide storage reporting to include allocation, utilization, performance, problem/incident, and root cause analysis - Provide on-call coverage in rotation with lead STK storage engineer - Cross train and effect knowledge transfer to ensure high customer support levels on both EMC and STK storage without regard to which engineer is on-call - Maintain storage hardware and associated software at top levels of performance by monitoring version upgrades and maintenance releases to ensure that environment is optimally configured - Support MF DASD allocation and performance management as part of a total storage environment. - Work closely with Service Management, Capacity Planning and Performance Tuning team members to ensure that necessary storage is planned for, available, and meets/exceeds client SLAs. |
