Quaking Cellphones Before it imploded ... (Jan 12 2004 04:09 GMT)

- Quaking Cellphones Before it imploded due to its inability to produce a graphics chip that could compete with Nvidia’s GeForce line, 3dfx executives suggested one area of growth was making graphics chips for PDAs and cellphones. While 3dfx did not survive long enough to bring any designs to market both major players in the graphics chip market, Nvidia and ATI technologies have now introduced such designs. ExtremeTech reports that Nvidia plans for the GoForce line that will support digital camera phones with resolutions up to 1.3 megapixels.

Ken Wilber and Paganism (Jan 12 2004 04:08 GMT)

- In Sex, Ecology, Spirituality, Ken Wilber argues that the deep ecology movement is in tragic error, and accuses "nature mysticism" - by which he includes Paganism - of undermining spirituality by reducing spiritual experience of the Divine, or Oversoul (which is properly transrational, above and beyond reason) to regression into our pre- egoic beginnings (which is prerational)

Carnival of the Capitalists by Ensight.org (Jan 12 2004 04:07 GMT)

- There are few things more enjoyable for me than reading. This week I have gotten to read more than my fair share. Between general work reading, catching up on University course work, the Business Blog Book Tour and reading each of this week's submissions I think my eyes are just about ready to... Yeah, they are definitely ready to gloss over. This week it is my honour, nay my duty, no damn it my pleasure to host the Carnival of the Capitalists.

Dating Services and Probabilities (Jan 12 2004 04:07 GMT)

- A week ago I posted an amazing Business Week article about how the Singles community are becoming demographically more significant than the married community. Here's an interesting analysis of why online dating services don't succeed (several pages long) and an interesting demographic calculator. (Check the bottom for a breakdown by city). According to this soulmate calculator, I need to meet 528 female Houston singles to find my soulmate. Interestingly, they don't break it down by education level.
