Something Suspicious? (Jan 12 2004 21:59 GMT) - "After 9/11, our store associates were instructed that if they see something suspicious or out of the ordinary, they're to contact their managers and local authorities," Frankel said. "It's all about keeping our associates and customers safe and this was out of the ordinary and kind of raised a red flag and they did what they thought was right."Buying a flight simulator is suspicious? Haven't flight simulators been best selling software for, I don't know, a decade? This is exactly the problem with our current Orwellian state of perpetual war. |

White House briefing (Jan 12 2004 21:58 GMT) - A really useful site, with handy facts and very good pointers to what is/will be happening. It has some very good links to new articles, along with political points. It is the WaPo's attempt at a weblog. Wish it had a newsfeed. Then I could feel like a Washington insider. |

The Verge Web Framework (Jan 12 2004 21:57 GMT) - After reading this post on the Server Side, I'd hate to be the guy who invented Verge. He's getting pounded like a rabbit during mating season! Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with another web framework. Competition is good. The funny thing is that I've never had a need to migrate away from Struts. |

Alien vs. Predator (Jan 12 2004 21:56 GMT) - I'm hanging for this! The behind the scenes featurette is worth watching. I'd say it's been up for a while as it was taken at pre-production stages, but offers a reasonable teaser as to what to expect with lots of storyboard/visualisation scenes explained by the director (I guess?). |
