Kuře v hodinkách (Jan 13 2004 08:57 GMT) - Preparing the photo album for this summer holidays in the Czech Republic, we've found the card of a restaurant we discovered the night before leaving Prague: Kuře v Hodinkách. I've typed the url into Firebird's address bar and found a warm welcome to the restaurant (and music bar) site. If you ever go to Prague, you'll find that there's plenty of places to have an excellent meal. Most have the same selection of dishes (goulash, battered mushrooms... |

It was one that he believed Chase wouldn't find at the other companies bidding on its big technology outsourcing deal. "We can give you direct, intimate access to IBM's gray cells," Sachar said. That's what he likes to call the nearly 3,000 researchers, including 2,000 PhDs and 6 Nobel laureates, who spend much of their time thinking about the future. |

(Jan 13 2004 08:55 GMT) - generally, i would like to see basics taken care of first. don't cut any programs, just shift the focus so to speak. i think there are a lot of valuable programs, and not enough money, so some just have to slow spending down a bit for certain programs, when certain needs are identified. a flexible budget i guess.it should be known that i am the first person to say that technology is the way to go when trying to solve problems. |

A note to Microsoft execs: don't whine, tell our story! (Jan 13 2004 08:52 GMT) - I was just over at Slashdot and found that a Microsoft general manager is not happy that HP has partnered with Apple on its iPod and iTunes service. You know, I've been darn supportive of Microsoft's strategies lately. But, not this time. This strategy of "whine about lack of choice" isn't a winning one. When someone is beating you in the marketplace, the thing to do isn't to whine about choice (and, if anyone says Apple isn't winning in the marketplace with its iPod then they are drinking far better Merlot than the $5. |
