Sun starts new Java-Linux service portal (Jan 22 2004 23:51 GMT) - Though it is a tad late to the party, Sun Microsystems is slowly but surely making up for lost time by positioning itself closer to Linux and the open source community in general. The latest indication is the announcement the Santa Clara, Calif.-based firm made Thursday at LinuxWorld, when Sun announced a new Java.net community for Linux developers with expanded support for Java-based development tools on both the Solaris and Windows platforms. |
