- En diciembre de 2001, Lariz recuperó la libertad, pero en julio de 2002 volvió a ser detenido como consecuencia de una nueva solicitud de extradición formulada por el juez Baltasar Garzón, quien fundamentó su petición en un requerimiento rechazado en 1991, y que motivó en su dÃa un arresto domiciliario. El ciudadano vasco permaneció en Cárcel Central hasta el 22 de noviembre de 2002, dÃa en el que la jueza AÃda Vera le comunicó que la petición de la Audiencia Nacional habÃa sido nuevamente rechazada, por lo que debÃa quedar en libertad. No obstante, un grupo de policÃas secuestró a Lariz dentro del juzgado y lo llevó por la fuerza hasta el aeropuerto de Carrasco, donde le esperaba un avión rumbo a Buenos Aires. Para posibilitar el traslado de Lariz a Argentina, la embajada española en Montevideo, a cargo de Fernando MartÃnez Westerhausen, entregó al viceministro del Interior uruguayo, Daniel Borrelli, un pasaporte español falso con validez por siete dÃas. |
