Where are they now? (Feb 06 2004 00:59 GMT) - Salon has an interesting article on a show I've seen only once, but found interesting - "Bands Reunited". It's an interesting article, and a great show - catch it sometime if you were listening to music during the 80's.... |

Nothing Done (Feb 06 2004 00:58 GMT) - I've managed to get nothing at all done today. I've shipped some Tinderboxes to eager customers, as our office manager is unwell. I've fixed a couple of minor Tinderbox/Mac problems for other customers. I've cleared the accounting backlog that built up when I got nothing done yesterday, either. I've tried to take care of my ailing mother, and tried to find my AWOL kid sister, and tried to figure out whether my president was AWOL or what. |

The training exercise was played out at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin in California's Mojave Desert." |

Feed experimentation under way (Feb 06 2004 00:58 GMT) - I'm testing some new RSS tools in Tinderbox. For the next few hours, the RSS feed may break in surprising ways. Much better now. For the present, I've included the entire post in my RSS feed instead of a brief summary. If you find this better, or worse, let me know. |

What I did today (Feb 06 2004 00:58 GMT) - As folks have noticed, Flutterby is edging more and more towards the community. Just do drag it back, I'll keep up with the gawdawful techie posts about the mundanities of my life that test the patience of even the semi-geeks. So, in short, I am the _Vivitar 283_ photo flash modification god. I have absurd computer control through my C# API over flash duration (and therefore apaprent brightness). I have also reduced a number of opt-isolators to slag, but we won't get into ... |

Liberals Facing the Truth? (Feb 06 2004 00:57 GMT) - Could it be? Is CalPundit for real about this?: As near as I can tell, Tenet admitted only one mistake: "we recently discovered that relevant analysts in the community missed the notice that identified a source that we had cited as providing information that in some cases was unreliable and in other cases fabricated." And that's it. |

Favorite typefaces (Feb 06 2004 00:55 GMT) - I always enjoyed the look of Apple Garamond. Doing a quick Google tells that it is hidden away in every copy of OSX. OSXFAQ and MACOSXHINTS both have instructions on how to uncover it. |

Microsoft wards off voice-data lawsuit (Feb 06 2004 00:54 GMT) - [WinInsider.com] - Microsoft has successfully fended off a lawsuit over a set of controversial voice digitization patents, in a case that could have roiled the computer and Internet telephony industries if the patents had been upheld as valid. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit said in a 2-1 ruling on Tuesday that Multi-Tech Systems' patents were not violated and " |
