Helpline Comment (25933) (Feb 29 2004 02:29 GMT) - Odd-ball machines (again): I see the principal in action already in my own collecting habits. The early PC-compatable machines that I find most desirable are the ones that are not exact clones of the IBM-PC, but are in some way a little different. Machines like the Columbia MPC and yes, even the original Compaq Portable will find a place in my collection *because* they are different. Especially desirable (to me) are early MSDOS machines that didn't even try to be IBM-compatable, such as the Sanyo 555, the Tandy 2000, and the Victor/Sirius 9000. |
