Indian state of Maharashtra recently launched the Medical Tourism Council (MTC) of Maharashtra to make India a prime destination for medical tourists. A heart surgery in a private hospital in Bombay runs at $10,000 compared to roughly $50,000 in the West. These Indian hospitals hire excellent surgeons and have state-of-the-art equipment. The MTC hopes foreign patients who pay for healthcare in their own countries. |
