She was a mere serving girl in our household after all and was not even worthy of the amount of time it would have taken me to plot her death. My husband was away in London, and while he was attending to business the household staff had been reduced to cater solely to me. On this particular day the girl in question was not even due to be in the house. You can see here how her downfall came about, can you not?
