Diving Out Of The Way (Feb 29 2004 18:13 GMT)

- I've been trying to make it a habit of going for runs (or walks) to help shed some pounds I've gained the past few months (thanks to holidays and family events.) I want to make it a daily thing - first thing when I wake up, I go out and run approximately 5 miles. That way I'll be energetic all day, and maybe get myself back into shape. I can barely fit in my jeans I've had since high school now, and that's something I'm not used to. Friday night I forgot to do my run, and I was pretty bored, so I decided to go run at 2 in the morning, exhaust myself, and head to bed.

Judge authorizes SCO suit expansion (Feb 29 2004 18:11 GMT)

- The judge in the SCO/IBM lawsuit today authorized SCO to expand it's lawsuit to increase the damages to $5 billion, dropped the misappropriation of trade secrets complaint, but added a charge of copyright infringement. CNet reports "SCO seeks $1 billion in damages for unfair competition and $1 billion for each of four allegations of breaching various contracts by which SCO licensed Unix to IBM and a company Big Blue acquired, Sequent." This is the second time SCO has altered it's suit, and also the second time it has included a raise in the stakes. The first was in April, just a month after the suit was filed. Now, almost a year after the suit was filed, there is still not a chance of a resolution any time soon, though the fight in and outside of the courtroom goes on, against the claims and the Linux tax.
