Yes, I'm shepardizing the Bible (Feb 29 2004 18:44 GMT) - Anthony Rickey says that quoting old passages out of the Bible to demonstrate how silly the gay marriage amendment is, is unfair. He says that only older passages are cited and that sometimes the "holding" of the Bible was more narrow than was represented. This may all be true. Yes, the old testament is not representative of modern morality--and to some extent, neither is the new testament. We can find, in all parts of the Bible, things that we do not agree with now. |
