The Incredible Melting Man, Part ... (Mar 05 2004 19:59 GMT) - The Incredible Melting Man, Part Two I got so wrapped the other night with Melting Man The Painting that I didn't get around to writing about Melting Man The Movie until it was time to hang up my keyboard for the day. Let's rectify the situation as I introduce a brand new feature that I would like to name Vaguely Remembered Cinema. This 1977 MGM sci-fi-space-cannibal-movie gets no respect, no respect at all. It is listed in the MGM Movie Database with a 50 word description and nary a picture. Rotten Tomatoes has only a handful of reviews, The VHS is unavailable and the DVD has never been produced. |

Read Aloud Australia Roadblock (Mar 05 2004 19:58 GMT) - The Read Aloud Australia program, giving parents 2 million books over four years, sounds like a great idea to foster literacy. Do You Violate Your Friends' Privacy By Using Plaxo? (Mar 05 2004 19:58 GMT) - It appears that others are beginning to pick up on one of the fundamental problems with services like Plaxo that we've been discussing here recently. With all the focus these days on making sure corporations protect your personal info, why are people so quick to sign up with services like Plaxo and hand over all of the private info of friends, co-workers and acquaintances? In fact, this reporter is wondering if Plaxo is violating new data privacy laws in Europe. When I give out my private contact info to you, does that mean it's okay for you to give that to a private company? While most people are concerned about companies giving away our data, why are we okay with our friends doing the same thing? |
