Nadia finds Google (Mar 05 2004 21:59 GMT)

- My daugther discovered Google. I guess she has seen us searching for stuff, so she knew that was something to do. So, she decided on her own she wanted to look for Cindarella. She found Google, but she couldn't spell "Cindarella", so she spelled one of the five or so things she can spell: her own name.

Batman Begins (Mar 05 2004 21:59 GMT)

- CNN reports that filming has begun on the new Batman movie (in Iceland??). I'm pleased with the casting choices and the director (the same guy directed Memento, which was a quirky murder mystery told largely in reverse. I think he's a good choice to keep the tone of the film relatively even, something I don't think Tim Burton did (and the others seemed to think campy is better).

FJFOTY - week 1 round up (Mar 05 2004 21:57 GMT)

- We're halfway through the first round of the FJ Follower of the Year competition, and we thought we'd have a quick review. For you fans of facts and figures, a respectable 64% of the total amount of points possible has been achieved, with the wRiting category being the suprise favourite so far. Have a bunch of drinks over the weekend and get some entries rolling in, as there's still plenty of time. Just in case the mere title of 'FJ Follower of the Year' isn't enough to get you off your arses, remember we have a fantastic bunch of prizes up for grabs, including our covetted Star Prize. ...

Funjunkie Friday Game VI (Mar 05 2004 21:57 GMT)

- It's about this time in the afternoon when we like to slip in an obligatory 'See how far you can chuck something' style game. We're opting for Car Throwing this week, for no other reason than that's all we could knick off someone else's site. Thanks Coolio.

Funjunkie Friday Game V (Mar 05 2004 21:57 GMT)

Funjunkie Friday Game IV (Mar 05 2004 21:57 GMT)

Funjunkie Friday Game III (Mar 05 2004 21:57 GMT)

- Forum regular Trudi sent in this next friday game. As you may or may not be aware, she's a bit of a fox. A shy one, but a fox nonetheless. As you may or may not be aware, foxes sometimes go for walks in woods. They like to get back to nature and sniff the toadstools after a hard night of scavenging in bins.

Funjunkie Friday Game II (Mar 05 2004 21:57 GMT)

- Taz has once again retained the yellow jersey for posting the first FJFG of the week, the little stinker. It's not my fault I have to travel to work, rather than just roll down the stairs into an office chair. Anyway, instead of taking out my aggression on poor Taz, I'm going to beat the living crap out of a bunch of eskimos instead*. *I don't personally have anything against eskimos, but that's what you have to do in this game, so please don't write in and complain.

- Oh dear, look at the time. It's Friday morning and there's still no Funjunkie Friday Game! I can see why you often accuse us of being slackers... or slurfers perhaps. Well it looks like you've only just crawled out of bed, and since you're only half way through your sixth cup of coffee, I think it's probably too much to give you anything complex.

White Stripes' Black Jack Davey (Mar 05 2004 21:56 GMT)

- So I highly recommend spending the $0.99 to pick up the White Stripes' new exclusive song on the iTMS, Black Jack Davey. It succinctly combines both old English ballad material with a kick-ass guitar groove. Listen to it loud, and ponder its similarities to Fairport Convention's Matty Groves, which is also akin to a much older English ballad, Fair Margaret and Sweet William (from Tim O'Brien's Songs from the Mountain) or also known as Lady Margaret (from the Cold Mountain soundtrack). Did I mention to listen to it LOUD?

Martha Stewart found guilty (Mar 05 2004 21:56 GMT)

- It will likely come as no surprise to anyone with a TV set, or a conscience, Martha Stewart has been convicted on all four of the remaining counts against her, two counts of conspiracy, and one count each of obstruction of justice and making false statements, making it a clean sweep for all 3 charged in the ImClone scandal. CNN reports "Her ex-broker, Peter Bacanovic, was found guilty on four of the five charges he faced. Each could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and fined $250,000 for each count." Many of the jurors said that if she had just been up front and honest, this likely would not have happened, but one juror said, "This is a victory for the little guys. ...
