iPhoto Meltdown (Mar 15 2004 23:25 GMT) - My iPhoto database is corrupt. When I run iPhoto it crashes instantly and I've had no luck getting it to launch without loosing all my database info such as film rolls and image rotation and so forth. Further, I haven't been able to find anyone who's had similar problems and been able to fix it. So frustrating. |

southern baptists and slavery (Mar 15 2004 23:25 GMT) - Oh, another thing from my visit to Georgia. Upon explaining that I've been attending an American Baptist church, a discussion ensued with my grandfather, who's an upstanding member of a neighborhood Southern Baptist church in his small city. Some question came up about the difference between the two, and I asserted what I've understood for a while: that the SBC broke off from the main denomination because the SBC founders believed that slavery was okay and the ABC believed that it wasn't. That went off about as well as the proverbial fart in the church; |

Kerry's Math Doesn't add up (Mar 15 2004 23:24 GMT) - John Kerry started airing an ad today saying he never called for a 900 billion dollar taxincrease. The ad repeated his claims that he will cut middle class taxes, cut the deficit and improve health care. His health care plan will cost 900 billion dollars, by his own estimates. Obviously, the numbers don't add up. How can you cut taxes, dramatically increase spending, and still cut the budget? |

More Paranoia (Mar 15 2004 23:24 GMT) - I was always the kid who insisted there was a monster in the closet or under the bed or outside my window. Many, many nights in my lifetime have passed sleeplessly due to my overactive imagination. For a couple hours tonight I became convinced that a villain might be hiding in my backyard. Mind you my dog Q, with his keen ears and zeal for barking, would alert me if anything mildly unusual were to arise. But somehow his dutiful watchfulness can’ |

I have a file drawer ... (Mar 15 2004 23:24 GMT) - I have a file drawer packed with old church bulletins and orders of worship. Last night I pulled out the file and went through it, removing the lookalikes from the same church until the file contained only unique handouts. Usually I stick these in my Bible, and when I get home they get removed from the Good Book and wind up in the file. When I'm traveling and visit a church, I make sure I save whatever printed Order of Worship is handed out. Most of them are from Reformed, Lutheran, and Anglican churches I've visited over the years along with the ones from churches I've held membership in. |

T-Minus Three: The Hard Way (Mar 15 2004 23:23 GMT) - Had an interview yesterday, and I've got one tomorrow as well. If everything goes well, I will be very much employed before my birthday. Maybe now I can buy a foot spa for my tore-down tootsies. Oh, the pain!... |

Dynamic Pages (Mar 15 2004 23:23 GMT) - Jenny, you've just identified a key problem with researching SEO - many articles become swiftly out of date, and yet may still be around. Worse though is that hundreds of articles get ripped off and reposted, so that some articles put online today are actually just plagiarisms of things that were already out of date, yet are presented as the latest info. |
