The 50 Most Loathsome NYers (Mar 31 2004 14:30 GMT) - In a city of 8 million, why narrow your selections? (I ask this with affection, and as someone who was born in Brooklyn, grew up in the Gothamic shadowlands of New Jersey, lived in Queens, and toiled for some years in Manhattan.) The NY Press is back with its annual list, many of which are on-target and many of which are not. What the hell, it's comforting to read a newspaper that uses the word douchebag as a spacefiller. "Numbers don't tell Mac's story", ... (Mar 31 2004 14:30 GMT) - "Numbers don't tell Mac's story", AL FASOLDT, The Post-Standard Your neighbor drives home with his new BMW and the first thing you say to him is a wisecrack about his car's low market share. You'd never do it. Nobody would. Most people drive Toyotas or Hondas or Fords, but that means nothing to the people who own BMWs. Right? |

Creating Sustainable Performance Improvement [Peter Hunter] (Mar 31 2004 14:30 GMT) - Creating Sustainable Performance Improvement is not interesting because it is impossible. We would all love to do it, we would all love to operate business's where our staff cared about what they did and were proud of the result. But we know that making that change is a stupid dream. Or is it? |

auugh... sucky streaming! (Mar 31 2004 14:28 GMT) - Listening to Al Franken on Air America Radio this morning, and it's really funny. That said, the streaming is really sucking for me, and is no doubt overloaded. I'm having to repeatedly connect because it keeps dropping me... you'd think it would at least stop for awhile and buffer instead. I checked the URL to see who is hosting the audio feed, and the link goes to: |
