Blazers 91, Lakers 80 (Apr 07 2004 04:59 GMT) - Suddenly an 11-game winning streak becomes a two-game losing streak as the Lakers again fall behind early and never recover. Key stat of the game: Kobe Bryant made 5 of 23 shots for 12 points. He needs to get under control and be a team player like the rest of the stars if this team is to go as far as it's capable of going. |

Small Changes (Apr 07 2004 04:58 GMT) - As you may have noticed, I redesigned the look of the site this week. I also added an inline comments feature so comments can be read (or hidden) on the front page. And I decided to just put the last 15 entries on the front page, as my entries tend to be long and the page was getting too big to load quickly. Everything seems to be working. A few pages may still not have the same look and feel as the rest of the site (such as search results pages), but I'll work on it as time allows. |

Another lie revealed (Apr 07 2004 04:57 GMT) - Is ANYTHING this administration has told us in the last three years true? Turns out even the tenuous al-Qaeda-Saddam connection, that leg-amputation surgery in Baghdad for Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, didn't really happen. Oh, nevermind. My bad. |

Note: the term Islamo-fascist usually turns me off but the column is still worth a read. Even if he is right I still think our forces are spread too thin. News Highlights (Apr 07 2004 04:56 GMT) - News Highlights: Bill O'Reilly says we should get out of Iraq. The fighting seems to be over in Ramadi but continues in Fallujah. I'm looking for anything happening in Amarah and Basra, including action by the Brits. There is a little info here basically saying that it is unknown how many supporters Sadr has, maybe 3,000, maybe more. |

Muslim Rivals Unite In Baghdad Uprising (Apr 07 2004 04:56 GMT) - Muslim Rivals Unite In Baghdad Uprising BAGHDAD, April 6 -- On the streets of Baghdad neighborhoods long defined by differences of faith and politics, signs are emerging that resistance to the U.S. occupation may be growing from a sporadic, underground effort to a broader insurrection by militiamen who claim to be fighting in the name of their common faith, Islam. ( If true, this is SO not good news. ed. |

Joke of the Day - Overtime (Apr 07 2004 04:55 GMT) - A contractor dies in a car accident on his 40th birthday and finds himself at the Pearly Gates. A brass band is playing, the Angels are singing a beautiful hymn, there is a huge crowd cheering and shouting his name and absolutely everyone wants to shake his hand. Just when he thinks things can't possibly get any better, Saint Peter himself runs over, apologises for not greeting him personally at the pearly gates, shakes his hand and says "Congratulations son, we've been waiting a long time for you." Totally confused and a little embarrassed, the contractor sheepishly looks at Saint Peter and says "Saint Peter, I tried to lead a God fearing life, I loved my family, I tried to obey the 10 Commandments, but congratulations for what? I honestly don't remember doing anything really special when I was alive. |
