Depth of mercy! (Apr 19 2004 02:59 GMT) - Depth of mercy! Can there be Mercy still reserved for me? Can my God His wrath forbear, Me, the chief of sinners, spare? I have long withstood His grace, Long provoked Him to His face, Would not hearken to His calls, Grieved Him by a thousand falls. I have spilt His precious blood, Trampled on the Son of God, Filled with pangs unspeakable, I, who yet am not in hell! |

Powerbook barrier (Apr 19 2004 02:53 GMT) - I've often waxed lyrical about my wonderful Powerbook G4 12" laptop, but on the weekend I think I've finally hit it's limit. I was working in Illustrator CS on an A3 poster design for a friend that included some largish photographs. The save time was pretty ordinary, but the load time for the application, and Photoshop CS for that matter, was even worse. I suspect this is mostly a RAM issue (I've got 396MB), so I'm going to upgrade to at least 768MB and see how that goes. Hopefully it'll make a world of difference (I would expect it would too - my work PC has 512MB and handles large files reasonably well). |

New studies show varied, wholesome diet healthier than low-carbs (Apr 19 2004 02:53 GMT) - I think half the people I know are on the South Beach diet. At church potlucks there are fewer casseroles and more meat, and I can't recall the last time someone brought a loaf of bread. Last year it was the Atkins diet, but I don't hear much about that one any more. I guess they either didn't lose weight, didn't like the way it made them feel, or both. I was shocked that the Center for Science in the Public Interest approved of it: |
