Scoble on Persuasion (Apr 19 2004 22:58 GMT) - I have to agree with Tim Bray, Scoble's post on how to be persuasive in the information age is the best he has written so far. Not surprisingly, it points directly at the power of blogging as a tool of persuason. |

Canada Geese Take over the Milwaukee County Zoo (Apr 19 2004 22:58 GMT) - While most public places have a problem with squirrels or pigeons, the Milwaukee County Zoo has a problem with Canada Geese. They're everywhere. This is a problem not just of the Zoo's but of many suburban areas that are in the Canada Geese's migration pathway. Many people think they are a nuisance and would like to hunt the geese or perform mass extermination to reduce their population, but the Coalition to Prevent the Destruction of Canada Geese is detirmined to find a humane, non lethal way to eliminate or minimize conflicts between Canada Geese and humans. I like the geese, I think they're beautiful, but I know what a pain they can be. |

Credit where due (Apr 19 2004 22:56 GMT) - I've given Air America some shit for not having its network together. But right now they say they're back on the air in Los Angeles and Chicago, due to arrive in San Francisco and San Jose (two tiny stations, but better than none), plus others in Sacramento, Colorado Springs, Portland (Maine), and Boulder. And they're already on in Chapel HIll, West Palm Beach and Plattsburgh/Burlington. (I notice with less than the full schedule in at least one case.) Meanwhile they're on the air with Sirius as... |

Will trade passwords for chocolate (Apr 19 2004 22:56 GMT) - According to this Security Pipeline article, nearly three quarters of office workers in an impromptu man-on-the-street survey were willing to give up their passwords when offered the bribe of a chocolate bar. Heh. Heaven only knows what they'd fork over for venti latte with extra foam. Link (Thanks, Mitch!) |
