Built for Use (by Karen Donoghue) (Apr 20 2004 15:59 GMT) - This book aims to look at the online user experience from the perspective of a corporate strategist or a marketing manager. It makes the case for a focus on user experience, and it does so very often. Apart from making the case, it didn't do much else for me, which... |

Pacemakers + Electricity == Elderly Bloopers (Apr 20 2004 15:59 GMT) - The Times has a short ditty warning of the dangers of modern electronics and pacemakers, ending up with an unintentional 'chuckle at the unfortunate elderly' piece, including the story of a man whose use of an 'alternative medicine' device called the Zapper (dude! |

Great Typo (Apr 20 2004 15:58 GMT) - Was dealing with a support issue earlier today where a user reported that she couldn't logon to the system, and that some images appeared to be fuzzy. I crafted a reasonably polite e-mail, ignoring the fact that she wouldn't have any ideas about image quality if she couldn't even logon. There were a couple of different people involved in this e-mail chain. The end user wrote to somebody internally, who then forward the question to me. I responded privately to the internal person, assuming she would then forward my response back to the end user. |

Indians in the Time 100 (Apr 20 2004 15:58 GMT) - I came home to find a new edition of Time lying on the modest piece of wooden furniture we like to call a teapoy at home. |
