CDU relaunch (Apr 22 2004 13:59 GMT) - The German Christian Democrats (CDU) went through an extensive relaunch of their party's web site. The site runs on the RedDot content management system (strangely enough, the "officical" CMS Mambo Open Source is not being used for the main site). The service sections offers, drums please, a RSS news feed that may be syndicated to personal homepages. While the site's design is clean and works well for featured articles, the forums are rather unusable and difficult to navigate. Design = well done. |

Smalltalk likely isn't one of the ones they would immediately think of - after all, Smalltalk has been around for many years, and is not nearly as well known as Java, C, or C#. However, Smalltalk has many advantages - it's the original OO language, and is much simpler - and more powerful - than Java, C, or C#. Cincom Smalltalk is a direct descendent of the original Smalltalk developed at Xerox PARC in the late '70s. Recently the 2003 Turing Award, considered the "Nobel Prize of Computing" was been given to Dr. |

But as senior vice president of AMD's Computation Products Group, lately his job has meant more time spent in front of airport security screeners than processor designers as he travels around evangelizing AMD's eighth-generation Opteron and Athlon 64 processors. |
