On new customers Most of ... (Apr 26 2004 20:59 GMT) - On new customers Most of my customers are middle-aged mothers with a couple exceptions: Kathy is a young mother, certainly no older than twenty-two, with a blonde haired demon child of two on her hip, and another on the way. I never heard a toddler scream so much. His name is Rickie and this morning he grabbed my tote bag and emptied everything on the floor while I showed Kathy the selection of lipstick samples I carried. "Rickie! |

Find an Arky Arky... (Apr 26 2004 20:57 GMT) - A new sattelite image of the famous protruding structure high on Turkey's Mt. Ararat reveals it to be "boat shaped" the implication for years being that it indeed is part of the Biblical Ark of Noah, which came to rest on that very mountain. For the first time (as it is now being permitted by the Turkish Gov't) a snowy mountain climbing expedition will set forth in hopes of reaching the ark, disproving the popular scientific theory that although the flood could have happened, it is impossible for the ark to have settled that high. While the risky expedition may contain a serious element of "survival of the fittest" (as with any cold mountain climbing endeavor) the potential discovery will possibly have Darwinists flooding themselves. |

User?bility (Apr 26 2004 20:55 GMT) - One Plus One Equals Three -- "People (real human beings with feelings and emotions) interact with web sites (and other forms of experience design) to do all sorts of activities. Some are task-driven (online banking, booking a flight, checking weather reports, for example) but many more are offering experiences where the term user seems both anachronistic and inaccurate." Personally, I like saying "user" and I think it is a fine term. The term "participant" makes it sound like every person is in some research study. A user is someone who uses things. |
