Governmental Blunders (Apr 27 2004 01:57 GMT) - That's about all I can say on this topic. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission approved a rule that would let employers reduce or eliminate company health benefits to retirees eligible for Medicare. What a wonderful place to be, retirement, never... |

Clarke Flashback (Apr 27 2004 01:57 GMT) - Everytime I see a Toronto boxscore with H. Clark at the top of the lineup, I flashback to my early days watching the Yankees when Horace Clarke led off for the Yankees, and I cringe. Clarke's career high in OBA... |

Sun at MSFT (Apr 27 2004 01:56 GMT) - I've been looking through the multitude of case studies Microsoft has posted and came across one that is particularly interesting: Microsoft TV Information Systems: Hardware Development at Microsoft. This covers some aspects of Microsoft's internal development process but what I found especially interesting is the mention of "[m]ore than 250 Solaris-based servers" right at the start. The white paper was posted in early March, weeks before the historic deal the two companies made to close their legal wrangling, but one does wonder if the approval process took that into account. |

Digital interference on Freeview boxes (Apr 27 2004 01:56 GMT) - Last post by Jake Monkeyson on 00:41 27/Apr/04 - I get a lot of digital interference on my freeview box, where the moving parts of the frame (people, faces) break up into pixilated squares, so that, for instance Mark Williams will momentarily become a ZX spectrum crashed loading screen as he wanders from one side of the snooker table to the other. |
