San Fran pictures (Apr 27 2004 16:58 GMT) - With mom off staying with my aunt on Vancouver Island, I have some time to catch up on work (gulp) and to finally get the pictures from my trip to San Fran up for all to see. This trip was the best time I’ve had in SF, largely due to Larry and Jeremy’s hospitality. Great food and wine, sleazy bars, a controversial sweater, Jeremy breaking down and reading someone’ |

Dissecting A Car Crash, Part 2: The Main Event (Apr 27 2004 16:58 GMT) - There are three main components of any car crash, although they do not seem to occur in the order one might expect. The crash itself (part 2) happens first.A crunching, visceral impact; invariably wrenching you forward, hopefully snapping against a seat belt. Debris gains momentum, clashing against anything in the way. |

Outsourcing a Corporate Website [David Kerrell] (Apr 27 2004 16:57 GMT) - I know there are many marketing communications companies already managing small business websites on behalf of the respective business owners but are there companies that take on large corporate sites? If anyone has any experience of this kind of outsourcing, I would appreciate a response here or a message. Regards David Kerrell |

Is Kerry Digging the Hole Deeper? (Apr 27 2004 16:56 GMT) - As I have argued previously, this may not be the best move for Kerry: Kerry Demands Bush Prove Guard Service. For one thing, it looks like tit-for-tat over the medals flap, which will help keep the medals controversy alive. Fighting... |

Pat Tillman is Way More Heroic Than Other GIs (Apr 27 2004 16:55 GMT) - The last few days there has been a lot of press about the death of former NFL player Pat Tillman. He died in combat while serving in Afghanistan. From all accounts, he seems to have been a great man who decided to serve his country instead of play football professionally. I think that's quite honorable. The problem I have is that Tillman's death has gotten so much press. |

Maintain a Web Site, Go to Jail (Apr 27 2004 16:55 GMT) - A computer science graduate student is on trial in Idaho for helping Islamic organizations with their Web sites. Federal prosecutors say Sami Omar al-Hussayen, a Saudi who was working toward a Ph.D. at the University of Idaho, violated the USA PATRIOT Act by providing "expert guidance or assistance" to terrorist groups. Some of the Web sites he worked on included praise of suicide bombings in Chechnya and Israel, views that Hussayen says he rejects (but which he presumably would have a right to espouse under the First Amendment in any case). |
