Who will buy? (Apr 29 2004 23:59 GMT) - I mentioned recently about my facination with eBay. And a few of us got talking about it in the pub after choir practice this evening. Anyway, someone came up with the suggestion of trying to sell a copy of the CD we made a couple of years ago, as people seem willing to buy almost anything. So, here it is... the listing for Hearts & Voices, a CD of hymns sung by the choir of Old Saint Paul's Church Edinburgh. |

Box of Humans (Apr 29 2004 23:59 GMT) - Today I like buses. I didn't like them so much yesterday, but today I do. My journey to and from work requires I take 2 buses in each direction - and sometimes this experience can be deeply enjoyable.... |

Starship Troopers 2? (Apr 29 2004 23:59 GMT) - Apparently there was a straight-to-cable movie sequel to Starship Troopers, and Scott McCullar reviews it. There is an official web site from Sony, but there is an unofficial fan site which is better and oddly enough the movie promotes the URL for the fan site!... |

Nous sommes desoles (Apr 29 2004 23:59 GMT) - You might have heard about those Tom Bihn backpacks that had a subtle message printed in French on the washing instructions: Nous sommes desoles que notre president soit un idiot. Nous n'avons pas vote pour lui. (We are sorry that our president is an idiot. We did not vote for him. |

Arab CNN, Meet Arab Fox News (Apr 29 2004 23:58 GMT) - Via Reuters AlertNet, this wonderful bit of news. Apparently, someone in State's Public Diplomacy shop and the Broadcasting Board of Governors thought that U.S. needed to have a way to get its message out to the Muslim world without relying on Al-Jazeera (The Arab CNN) and Al-Arabiya (The Arab MSNBC). (Apparently I'm in very good company. |

Warflying (Apr 29 2004 23:57 GMT) - Too Cool! We all know what wardriving is - discovering wireless networks while driving some sort of ground-based vehicle. Warflying is kind of like that, except you are travelling at about 120 miles per hour and flying about 1500 above ground. [The Wireless Weblog ] |

The Commission is a Joke (Apr 29 2004 23:57 GMT) - Drudge Report says that former Senator Kerrey and Lee Hamilton, another Democrat, left in the middle of testimony given by President Bush and Vice President Cheney. Guard your banana! (Apr 29 2004 23:54 GMT) - The thing I really like and admire about capitalism is its attention to detail, made possible by the division of labour. While we Samizdatistas get sucked into Political Class worries - like the EU and the Iraq War, overpopulation, underpopulation, etc. - capitalism continues to crank out solutions to problems so small that they can actually to be solved. Someone, somewhere (actually: Canada! |
