Link Value (Apr 29 2004 14:59 GMT) - I was quite affected by this line in an interview with John Seely Brown: Blogs are powerful when there's a set of blogs working independently that end up helping you triangulate on the same point. You have different points of view that end up linking to the same mega-idea. If you have three independent rumors that all say the same thing, then that rumor may turn out to have a certain kind of significance. What's interesting is whether we should read blogs in the same way as we read a newspaper. |

Crime Blotter: Be Careful Out There (Apr 29 2004 14:58 GMT) - - A man who was charged with slashing a visiting student at the J train platform last year was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Yael Leopold, 21 years old at the time, visiting from out of town, was waiting for a train when Edwin Santiago approached her, asking her if she was a prostitute. The Post reports that when she "laughed the question off," Santiago slashed her. Leopold, now a NYC teacher, testified at the sentecing hearing. The major, security-focused operating system update doesn't yet meet Microsoft's standards, a company spokesman said Wednesday.
