IT User groups in Israel (not just .Net) (Apr 30 2004 03:39 GMT) - I was recently introduced to the fact that there are a lot more technology centered user groups in Israel that I thought. The good news is that they span many technologies - from Java to Interex (which is a totally new word to me). The bad news is that most of them seem to be as organized and maintained as a bunch of hippies on the beach. I'll post the complete list here shortly, but first - How I got it. |

(Apr 30 2004 03:38 GMT) - Interview with Ari Weinzweig Check out this Morning News interview with Ari Weinzweig, author of "Zingermans Guide to Good Eating" (a recent purchase of mine). I really like this quote: (when asked what cliched phrase/description he would drop from the troves of food writing): "Just one. The emphasis on the word 'quality' when it's used without any definition. |

Oh, *wicked* burn! (Apr 30 2004 03:33 GMT) - Jonah Goldberg, in the words of the immortal Kelso, dropped a really good burn on John Kerry. Kerry's position is a mess. He wants credit for throwing away the symbols of his service (the ribbons) and for the service he rendered to earn those medals (which he kept, but claimed until recently he didn't). If that sounds like a contradiction, it should.... |

Wow...Rene Gonzalez is the flavor of the moment. (Apr 30 2004 03:33 GMT) - The Tillman/Rene Gonzalez issue has struck a chord all over the blogosphere. I am greatly encouraged by the reactions I see everywhere, no matter of they are on the right or the left. Everyone but the extremists in places like DU/Indymedia seems unified in at least one thing: This kid wears his ass for a hat. Once again, let me say that I do NOT advocate anyone doing this kid bodily harm. |
