There's Good Spam, And There's Bad Spam (May 08 2004 21:59 GMT) - Every now and then, one does get an interesting piece of spam. I liken spam, and it's close-cousin, telemarketing, as evolutions of the time-honored door-to-door salesman. That trade was my first business. I organized a group of kids to pick the leftover strawberries from the fields on the local Marine helicopter practice area, after the farmers lost their lease. I sold them in the neighborhood - 25 cents for a one pound coffee can full, 75 cents for a three pounder (cans to be returned). |

Sasser Worm Suspect Confesses (May 08 2004 21:55 GMT) - If thats true, and this guy is the one behind Sasser, then woohoo. As the article goes on to suggest, theres a link between the netsky viruses and the sasser virus, using very similar code and the like. This could help end NetSky as well, which has been the biggest email virus going round of the last few months (since MyDoom stopped having much effect). We had been getting some 140 virus emails a day at work. A company of around 25 people. |
