Supreme Court refuses to block gay marriages in Mass (May 14 2004 23:20 GMT) - WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court refused today to block the nation's first state-sanctioned gay marriages from taking place next week. The justices declined without comment to intervene and block clerks from issuing marriage licenses to gay couples in Massachusetts. That state's highest court had ruled in November that the state Constitution allows gay couples to marry, and declared that the process would begin on Monday. |

BSB welcomes back the BSG (May 14 2004 23:16 GMT) - Just when we were about to write that the Sports Guy had been really mailing it in as over the last few months, and that he'd been recycling old material far too often, his last few columns showed up. And he clearly had his fastball back. While I'm not crazy enough to think that I love the NBA as much as he does, I do love the NBA, and he captures what I love about the league. And he's at his best when he's ranting about the Association or reliving classic basketball games.And in today's mailbag, he told us that's he's left the Jimmy Kimmel show and inked a new deal with ESPN. |
