Make Saline Spray at Home (Jun 05 2004 23:33 GMT) - A year ago I posted about many commercial nasal sprays and how they may contain preservatives that can actually destroy neutrophils. Since then, I've told patients to make it at home. Here's the secret formula: 1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda 1 Teaspoon of salt 1 Cup of warm water The solution can be squirted up the nose from a squeeze bottle .. or you can just dip a teaspoon in the solution, place it under one nostril and hold the other nostrol closed ... |

In Memoriam (Jun 05 2004 23:32 GMT) - "It is the Soviet Union that runs against the tide of history.... [It is] the march of freedom and democracy which will leave Marxism-Leninism on the ash heap of history as it has left other tyrannies which stifle the freedom and muzzle the self-expression of the people." America's 40th president and a liberator of millions of people from the communist nightmare has died. Our deepest sympathy goes to his family and to all American people during this difficult time.... |

Focus: Libya (Jun 05 2004 23:32 GMT) - So that nobody thinks that Mr. Quaddafi has thrown off his colorful robes and the general error of his ways, here is an overview of topics currently troubling the wise chieftain of the dunes. Chess It the open letter the ACP [Association of Chess Professionals ]complains that no announcement had been made (at the date of writing) of the final list of participants [in the upcoming World Chess Championship to be held in Tripoli], although this is long overdue. Furthermore the status of qualified players holding an Israeli passport remains unclear. FIDE's assurances that visas will be granted to all participants has been cast in doubt by statements by Mohammed Gadhafi, the President of the Libyan Olympic Committee (see links below). |

After just two weeks, the six-station network went off the air in Chicago and Los Angeles on April 14. By April 27, CEO Mark Walsh had left. On May 7, co-founder Evan Cohen signed off. On May 10, the network disbanded its Chicago and Los Angeles sales offices, laying off 15 to 20 people. |

War Crimes, in color (Jun 05 2004 23:32 GMT) - Armed Palestinians boarding a UN ambulance - photo by Israeli Channel 10 Israel channel 10 aired yesterday Inon Maga'l item showing armed Palestinians use UNRWA ambulances to flee undercover. Photographs taken at the Gaza Zeintun neighborhood about two weeks ago, on the same night the first APC was exploded, clearly show armed Palestinians boarding a UN-marked ambulance with a UN flag, and flee the scene. The reporter stressed that this was not a Palestinian Red Cross ambulance, known to have transported armored Palestinians since the outbreak of events, but rather a supposedly neutral ambulance of the UN. The UN has been discredited, and in color at that. I can't wait to hear from the excusenics, the apologists, the sympathizers and most importantly from the Islamofascist appeasers. |

Non-Israeli Soldiers Firing On Protesters (Jun 05 2004 23:32 GMT) - Some of you might have missed this item, seeing how it is barely reported in the media: Lebanese security sources say five civilians were killed Thursday and several others wounded when soldiers opened fire in Hay al-Soulom, after protesters tried to keep police from arresting them. Angry demonstrators then set fire to the government employment ministry in Beirut. ... The residents are demonstrating against soaring gasoline prices. |

Tales of an American Press (Jun 05 2004 23:32 GMT) - Ernie Pyle Journalist. In the process of debating the merits of publishing, and now continually hyping, the Abu Ghraib photos, I keep hearing that it is contrary to the American journalistic tradition to let patriotism or concern about the negative effects of bad news interfere with coverage. I have no idea where this idea comes from. Take Ernie Pyle, perhaps the most universally revered of America's war correspondents. The Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist was not the sort of objective chronicler of the facts the Columbia Journalism School churns out today. |

The Day After Tomorrow (Jun 05 2004 23:32 GMT) - To welcome the release of the new super duper high-tech environmentally conscious yet scientifically laughable thriller "The Day After Tomorrow", EvilConservatives.com have issued a number of posters. If you do go to this stupid movie, please print a few posters at home and hand them out in the movie theatre. Apparently the environmental wackos are using this unscientific movie as a rallying cry. But with posters like this, we are sure to get the last laugh. |

Here is an excellent argument ... (Jun 05 2004 23:32 GMT) - Here is an excellent argument for strategic importance of the Iraq war for overall success of the WOT. Iraq - Note a Disaster ...... After 9/11, the first and foremost problem facing the United States was quite simply, “How do we force our enemies to engage us on terms most favorable to us?” The Jihadists purposefully designed a strategy to enable their forces to engage the United States in an asymmetrical fashion, thus attempting to neutralize overwhelming U.S. |

You Signed! No Soup for You! (Jun 05 2004 23:32 GMT) - This man of the people is at it again! Many Venezuelans who signed petitions calling for the recall of President Hugo Chávez are now feeling pressure to withdraw their signatures. From Friday to Sunday, some 500,000 Venezuelans whose signatures were challenged by the National Electoral Council must reaffirm them in order to reach the 2.4 million-plus signatures required to force a referendum. But in a controversial decision, criticized by observers from the Organization of American States and the Atlanta-based Carter Center, the electoral council has ruled that ''repentant'' signers can also withdraw their signatures. |
